Editorial Policy

Our editorial independence is the whole product. Here are the rules we hold ourselves to.

No paid placement

We never accept payment to include, exclude, or rank a product. If it’s in a list, it earned its spot. If it’s missing, it’s because it didn’t measure up.

Editorial and revenue are separate

The people who write and edit our content don’t know who our affiliate partners are at any given moment, and they don’t optimize content for commission rates. Recommendations are made on the merits, full stop.

We disclose affiliate links

Every article that contains affiliate links says so, and the site carries a permanent affiliate disclosure. It’s the law, and it’s also just the right thing to do.

Accuracy and corrections

We fact-check specs and prices before publishing. When we get something wrong — and we’re human, so it happens — we correct it and note the correction. Found an error? Tell us and we’ll fix it fast.

Reviews are honest about what they are

We tell you how we reached each conclusion (see How We Test). When a claim is based on verified third-party data versus our own hands-on testing, we say which. We never fabricate hands-on experience.
